Basics
What is token.talk?+
A social feed for every ERC-20. Each token gets its own wall where people talk about it — and pay that token to do so.
Which tokens have a wall?+
All of them. Any ERC-20 address on Robinhood Chain has a wall at
token.talk/robinhood/{address}. Nobody lists or approves tokens; paste an address on the Token Posts page.Do I need an account?+
No. Connect a wallet, approve the token, write. The contract only knows wallet addresses; display names are off-chain, so until you set one your short address is shown.
Do I need to hold the token?+
You need enough of it to pay for your post or like. That’s the point — only people with skin in the game can talk.
Which chain?+
Robinhood Chain first (chain id 4663). Other EVM chains are on the roadmap.
Posting & likes
How much does a post cost?+
Any amount above zero, in the wall’s token. 95% is burned and 5% goes to the protocol. The more you pay, the higher your post starts.
What is a top-up?+
Adding more of the token to your post later. Same split as posting; it raises the post’s rank.
How do likes work?+
A like is a donation of the token to a post, any amount. 40% goes to the author, 50% is burned and 10% goes to the protocol.
How are posts ranked?+
By rank = amount paid + likes received. You can also sort by Latest or Most liked. No hidden algorithm.
Can I edit or delete a post?+
No. Posts are written to the chain’s event log and are permanent. Think before you post.
What if a payout can’t be delivered?+
Some tokens can freeze wallets. If the token refuses to send an author or the protocol their share, the contract keeps it as a claimable balance (claim it later to any address) and the wall keeps working.
Where is the content stored?+
In the transaction’s event log, not contract storage. The contract only stores each post’s owner, amount paid and likes received — that keeps posting cheap.
Burns & $TOLK
Where do burned tokens go?+
To the dead address
0x…dEaD, out of circulation for good. It works for any ERC-20, no special support needed. What is $TOLK?+
The platform token. The protocol’s cut from every wall (5% of posts, 10% of likes) is used to buy $TOLK and burn it.
Is $TOLK live?+
Not yet. The site shows a placeholder address until it launches; follow @TokenDotTalk for news.
Does the protocol swap on every post?+
No. The contract just routes the protocol share out; buying and burning $TOLK happens separately, off the hot path.
Safety
Is the contract audited?+
It has unit, fuzz and invariant tests and an internal security review (in the repo); an independent audit is recommended as usage grows.
Does a wall mean the token is legit?+
No. Anyone can open a wall for any address, including scams. Check the token yourself.
What about tokens with transfer fees?+
The contract measures what it actually received and counts that amount.
Is this financial advice?+
No. token.talk is experimental software for entertainment. Read the terms.
